Hawker Beechcraft

Indianapolis, Indiana

Hawker Beechcraft consolidated three scattered hangars at their Indianapolis location into one 48,000 sf fueled plane heavy maintenance hangar and painting facility. The project also includes a 32,000 sf retail plane sales outlet and design center as well as an independent Fixed Base Operator (FBO) terminal designed and built to individual lease design standards. The functional aspects of the maintenance hangar and FBO facility were united into a common architectural language designed to “take flight” visually. A major component of the business function is the maintenance of the corporate jets. The hangar interior is a well-lit space, creating an airy place to work while communicating to the customer the quality of the care each aircraft will receive during maintenance procedures.
