Meadowridge Library + Meadowood Neighborhood Center

Madison Public Library

Madison, Wisconsin

Madison, WI

This project was a joint venture between Madison Schools & Community Recreation (MSCR) and the Madison Public Library District. It is a showcase of community involvement and the result is a shared community space that reflects the needs for the neighborhood.

The new Meadowridge Library & Meadowood Neighborhood Center revitalized an empty storefront for the neighborhood. The mixed-use building serves multiple generations, nationalities and cultures by providing a safe, supervised place for youth, a place for neighborhood programs for all ages and a multi-purpose recreational room for art and fitness. Both entities use the commercial-grade kitchen in the joint community room for snack prep, cooking classes, community dinners and more. With separate entrances, library, neighborhood center and community room can operate independently.
