Chicago developer North Wells Capital secured a nearly $26.6 million loan for its acquisition and ongoing renovation of the former Bon-Ton Stores Inc. headquarters building in downtown Milwaukee.
The Chicago investor is in the midst of an $8 million renovation of that building, now called Hub640, at West Wisconsin and Vel R. Phillips avenues. The building formerly housed Bon-Ton’s corporate offices and a Boston Store, but those shut down in summer 2018 because of the retailer’s bankruptcy.
