Golda Meir Library Archives
University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee
The UWM Archives is a major repository of local history in Milwaukee and serves as the local Area Research Center for the Wisconsin Historical Society. Engberg Anderson was engaged by the University to program and design a renovation of 11,345 square feet within the existing Gold Meir Library to consolidate collections into a new storage area with preservation-grade environmental systems. The new Archive Area will include a research reading room, spaces for archivists to consult with researchers, and active learning classrooms to engage faculty and students with primary resources. The Archive is designed to accommodate a future consolidation with Special Collections through an expansion of both storage and staff work areas.
