Beloit Public Library
Engberg Anderson has worked with the Beloit Public Library for over ten years to provide long-range planning strategies and meet ongoing facility maintenance needs, setting the stage for future phased remodelings. Early studies focused on expansion and renovation of the existing facility in the 48,000 sf former Post Office Building. In early 2007, after completion of a new program for library service, it was decided to move the library to renovated space in the former JC Penney store at the Beloit Mall. The new program resulted in a facility of just over 54,000 sf, with all public functions on a single first floor, and staff spaces in the building’s upper level. Expanded collections, a flexible computer training center and a new divisible public meeting room are highlights of this new facility.
