Door County Archives

Sturgeon Bay, WI

Door County has been collecting historic archival material for decades, squirreling it away at the museum, the library, and most recently, the historic White House, which is already overflowing with materials. So when the Younker’s Furniture Store closed, adjacent to the Historical Museum, the County purchased the property to create a home for the Archives.

Engberg Anderson completed a feasibility study for the project, taking inventory of the collections, meeting with archive staff and volunteers, and engaging with the larger community to create a vision for the archive’s future as part of a larger mixed-use community hub.
